MetaMask – Ethereum Browser Extension
MetaMask is an Ethereum browser extension that enables users to view the blockchain in their browser without leaving their web page. The extension allows the user to perform Ethereum transactions from within the web browser.
What does it mean?
The MetaMask extension incorporates Ethereum’s web3 API to any website’s Javascript context, meaning when you open a web page, the extension will be able to read the information stored in the blockchain. These include the Ethereum addresses for every wallet, their associated balances, as well as the Ethereum address and balance at the contract address. The number of transactions completed is also included.
As soon as a user signs up, a wallet is created in the user’s MetaMask client and the user can move tokens between addresses, make transfers and withdrawals, and move funds between wallets.
